Still suffering

Well, my left wrist is still aching, but I do think I've figured it out a bit more. When I was MUCH younger I broken this wrist, but the doctor never casted it, his reasoning for this was "I can't make a very nice looking cast" ... ::sigh:: ... so I had is wrapped with an elastic bandage, but being a kid, and it was the summer, I took it off & suffered. Anyway, I figure that age, time & a bad doctor all have mixed together & are no causing me grief! BLAHK!!!
On knitting new, I am working on my tube vest from Fitted Knits and my Babette Blanket, whihc is crocheted ... ooohhhh!
I think I shall start mailing my SP10 partner some of her gifts this week in the hopes that they will start arriving by Mother's Day.
Other than that ... no much is new, it's just warmer than all get-out here, but I can live with it!

Aging ...

Well, I'm getting older, as we all are and those annoying little aches & pains can get VERY annoying! I am thinking about investing in a pair of those Handeze therapeutic knitting gloves for knitting & crocheting, my wrists sometimes bother me and lately my left more than my right, which is odd since I am right handed ... oh well, I'll live & knit & crochet in pain for the time being - lol I also think I just might need to break down & get some Knit Picks needles, I hear the points are fantastic and my needles were driving me NUTZ today!!!

As for my WIP, well, I was speeding right along on a hoodie pour moi, but then this horrible pooling started and I think I'm going to have to frog about a dozen rows ::sigh:: so instead of getting on with that, I started another project - lmbo! I am making the Turtleneck Tube Vest from Fitted Knits - after 3 frogs, I 'think' I'm finally making some progress - lol I'll keep you posted!

New Stuff

Well, I had some time to kill while dgd was at hockey try-outs, so I hit the Wal-mart across the highway, it's a new store & it was VERY nice inside, which is VERY unlike the store near me. Anyway, amongst the items I purchased I bought some Boye Jumbo Stitch Markers, and they are great!!!

'Boye Markers are slipped through completed work to mark points of increase, decrease, buttonhole placement or any other necessary marking. Comes in a clear plastic, snap-close box for easy storage. The Frustration ...

Well, I thought that the two new little girls in our house needed a felted house/bed, well, I chose some lovely wool from my stash, it's 80% wool, 20% acrylic ... IT WOULD NOT FELT!!! Nowhere on the label does it say that it is superwash ... ugh! So, I am back to square one ...

I really want to make this top from Fitted Knits, but I don't have enough of the suggested yarn to make it, so I'm thinking of subbing this instead. Do you think it would work alright? I also plan on altering the pattern a little bit - lol. I want to change the neckline a bit & take out the ribbing on the from between the drop-stitch pattern.

Blogger vs Typepad

Well, I'm thinking about switching over to Typepad. Blogger has just been so wonky lately, I guess ever since the switch to Beta, and it can get REALLY frustrating at times ... I don't know, maybe I should give it a bit longer, things are bound to get better ... right?!?!
Ooohh! I received my yarn order yesterday! And two new patterns books! I had ordered some Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Dusty Blue from The Sheep Shed, it's such a pretty shade of blue! I had also order a couple of Rowan pattern books off eBay

Almost there ...

I shall very soon be posting my 100th post on my blog (woohoo), anyway, to celebrate this I will be having a draw. All you have to do is leave a comment on my 100th post. This is my 98th post, so #100 will be this week ... the winner (a random draw will be made by one of my lovely kids pulling a name out of a hat) will receive some wonderful yarn (yet to be finalized), some new bamboo needles and a set of my custom made stitch markers!

Well, it is still a great day to be inside, so the egg hunt was indoors ... the poor Easter bunny must have frozen his little tail off getting around to all those houses!

A Good Day To Stay Inside!

Well, it's dang chilly & it's icy too, so it's a good day to stay inside & knit! Not to mention, I'm not feeling so great ... not sure what it is, but I sure hope it goes away VERY soon!

The things we find out about ourselves ...

Well, I cast on yesterday for my 'Rusted Root', then about 5 or 6 rows in & frogged it since I didn't like how a couple of stitches at the neckline looked ::sigh::, then as I cast on again, I went very slowly around the first few rows to make sure I liked everything, but that was when I realized a bigger problem ... as much as I like this sweater pattern & the color I am knitting with, I have symmetry issues that are holding me back! And these issues have made me re-evaluate the pattern & rethink my choices and I 'think' I have come up with a solution ... but am I going to tell you ... no way! I am going to knit up this little sweater with my changes & then show it to you ... so y'all will just have to wait & see!

Stash Busting!

My stash overflow-ith - lol! I am going to clear some out and list on De-Stash, I could use the money & I could use the space it's taking up, and why not clear it out if it's not going to get used ...

Well, our little Spring Break adventure is over ... San Diego was alright, but I would have prefered the beach in Maui. And it wasn't just me that felt this way, the kids really weren't into the 'theme' parks and all that, so, I guess that was a lesson learned.
