The recent birth (December 7, 2009) of an
Amur leopard cub at the
Serengeti Park in Hodenhagen, Germany, is all the reason we need to celebrate. Amur leopards are critically endangered; it's believed that there are fewer than 40 of them left in the wild (they're native to eastern Russia), with an additional few hundred in zoos. The cub, an as-yet-unnamed female who's now a month old, recently made her first public appearance at the zoo.
