I have the button located at the side, but here's the scoop:
Thanks for visiting We Love Annie. We hope that this site will serve as a hug of support from the fiber community to Annie Modesitt and her family on their current journey. Annie's husband Gerry is battling Mulitiple Myeloma, a terminal cancer that strikes plasma cells.Annie has graciously agreed to let us help her family. Here are a few ways that you can help out:
Make a donation and enter the "Six Weeks of Socks" contest. Starting July 2, we'll be drawing one name per week from that week's donations. The winner will receive a sock kit (yarn & needles). Check the blog weekly for the new sock yarn!
Send us your favorite Annie story (kid safe, please!) and we'll post them to the blog.
Send pics of your knitted/crocheted Annie designs and we'll share those as well.
Download the blog button (to your right) and link to us from your blog.

Please help ...
I'm sure you all know of Annie Modesit & her AWESOME patterns, well, she has helped us make some FAB garments & now it's our turn to help her!
Annie has a GREAT new pattern out - Red Carpet Convertible - it is not 'for sale' but she is taking 'donations' - here is the full scoop:
Thank you so much for your donation for this pattern, I hope you enjoy it!
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
Our family is facing a health crisis that has set us back a bit, but won't knock us flat.
We moved to Minnesota in Feb 2007 for a life change - I was going to devote more of myself to my knitting business, Gerry (my husband) was going to help out and be "Mr. Mom." while I traveled the country, teaching knitting and lecturing.
During our move it became clear that Gerry's annoying 'bad back' was significantly more serious than we'd originally thought. The bad back became crushed vertibrae, which became osteoporosis, which finally led us to Multiple Myeloma - a blood cancer that manifests itself in the bone marrow and is quite painful.
Gerry is scheduled for a stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic some time this summer, and we’ve been given somber projections for life after the bone marrow transplant.
We hadn't planned on this - who would? - and dealing with such a serious illness in a new place with no extended family is difficult. Thankfully, the very kind folks of Minnesota have been very forthcoming in their support, and we feel very much at home.
Our family's goal is to make every day as full of life and meaning as possible, retain our hope while facing the devastating prognosis we've been given by U of MN and the Mayo Clinic. Thank goodness for our friends.
Many folks have asked how they can help. Making a donation - and accepting this pattern as a heart felt 'Thank You' seemed to be the most gracious way to accept help in return for a groovy pattern for a stunning dress!
Even if you don’t knit, thank you for your donation.
THANK YOU!

Blah ...
Well, that sums up how I feel!
I have started a few new projects but I am having trouble finding the motivation to really work whole-hearted at any of them. To top it off I am trying to get myself & the three kids organized for our trip back home in a couple of weeks, which is a challenge in itself. Trying to figure out what to bring, what not to bring ... we'll be there for just a little over a month, so I have to pack for various types of weather conditions. And we are driving, so that will mean about 3 days in the vehicle, so I must figure out activities to make the time pass that doesn't starts fights & arguments ... sigh ...

I am still here ...
Well, I am sorry I haven't been around much ... I have been knitting & crocheting and sorting and whatnot ::sigh::
My Alexandria Ballerina Top is coming along nicely (knock on wood VERY quickly) and I hope to be finished it very soon.
I have also decided that I think I need to get some KnitPicks circs before I go on holiday! From what I understand they have great points & I really need that for some of the socks I'm planning on knitting, that dang fingering weight - lol So, I guess I'm going to have to suck it up & deal with their shipping & buy the dang things - lol ... anyone wanna buy them for me - lol

June already .....
The time sure is flying by, or so it seems. The kids have been out of school for a week already! Not much knitting going on around here ... it seems that everything I start is getting frogged ... don't know what it is ... something in the air perhaps. I guess what I really need to do is pick a project that I can just sit down & knit with minimal thinking involved ... any suggestions? I know I need to get some more addi's, but I'm on a bit of a spending diet for a little bit - lol Anyone have some turbo circs they want to part with really cheap?!?!
Maybe I need to have a poll or something and let you people decide what I should make next, although that might require my posting a pic of me for you to see just what I look like so you can figure out what I should make ... YIKES! I have a fairly decent yarn stash, so finding the right yarn or a suitable substitute should not be a problem.
Oh well, off to bake some brownies and ponder other things .....
